dhl pilots robbed in st maarten again.

DHL
Three DHL pilots that travel to St. Maarten every week became victims of robbery last week while they were at Mullet Bay Beach. Three youngsters raided the belongings of the pilots that were left on the beach and stole their cellular phones. A witness on the beach saw when the three culprits committed the act. That eyewitness called an off duty police officer who managed to run down the suspects and arrest them in the parking area of the Princess Juliana International Airport. SMN News understands that the vendor’s booth holders and persons selling on the beach are encouraging the bandits that are constantly robbing tourists on the beach.
The three pilots filed charges against the suspects as the eyewitness managed to identify two of the three suspects that were caught last week when the incident occurred.
On Tuesday night, the pilots became victims again, this time two unknown persons entered their apartments and stole their personal belongings, such as their wallets that contained monies and other personal items, keys to their vehicle and the vehicle that was parked outside their apartment building. One of the pilots was unable to fly back to Puerto Rico on Wednesday as he was busy filing a report with the detective department on St. Maarten. Up to press time the police department did not issue a report on the house break in that took place Tuesday night.

Many people who knew William Nunes on the Boardwalk remain in shock today, but most were not surprised considering that he had been telling several friends in the area that he would commit suicide. Many tales were told on the Boardwalk today, all who knew him, had good things to say about him. And although he had spoken of suicide, people simply felt that he would not do it.

zeitgeist
I would like to have my say, now thtat the political morass is behind us. Phew! Comrades, that one was very close. Tracked down by the zeitgeist, I am compelled to make some incendiary statments that might “rub some people the wrong way”. And not to sound too stuffy, it is only natural that I use some trendy, colloquial expreessions. I wanna be real with you. I would like to big up the labour front of Country St Maarten. Comrades, keep on trucking until every repressive, anti labour barrier (policy ) falls. When I learned that my “primo” Alberto Bute had to take matters into his own hands to resolve a labour dispute between his beloved spouse and a cheating merchangt in Philipsburg, it provoke the fighting side of me. There are many other ills in this counry that provoke the fighting side of me. But more on that later. Getting back to the political crisis “Watta Ting”. I have an English copy of the Constitution of Country St Maarten. But I have read only its preamble. I have not taken time to study it well. I did, however, pay close attention to the many debates about the seemingly controversial constitution, because it’s alawys good to listen welll. In addition to that I heard that the English copies of the Constitution are seriously flawed. In retropsect, I think that the Honoraable Governor should have advisdly stopped the  political crisist soon.T me it was like a prize fight. WIlliam the slugger had  Sarah the Wily boxer on the roopes, rocking her ith a barracge of blows. THe governor (the The Ref) by breeaking WIlliams flurry, allowed Sarah to recperate and get back into the fight. SSarah became stronger as the fight for power progressed she won a controversial decidion when the scores were tallied.
Sorry, comrades, I had some misgivings about signing the famouse petition. “Nuff repek to you” I strongly believe that the politcial crisis has conscientiezed our young people profoundly. WIth or without political reform(s), a change is gonna come in 2014. To quote one of our nationalists “St Maarten/St Martin needs a political revolution.
Let me break it down for you comrades. We have to send home all those venal, career politicians who put self interst before country They are the ones who ride roughshod over our feelings and over the Constitutuion. Elected officials are accountable to the people for their actions. Neever forget that comrades.
In closing, I would like to wish Wescot-WIlliams III Cabinet all the best. And I would like to heap prasises on former Minister of Education and Culture Siveria Jacobs for the oustanding work she has done. Bravo Silveria. That humble service should tanslate massively idto votes come 2014.
Comrades ah, gone.

st maarten secret police under investigation..........where's james richardson

IS JAMES RICHARDSON HEAD OF VDSM SXM’S INTELLIGENCE SERVICE MISSING?

Sarah Wescot Williams declined to answer whether head of VDSM James Richardson disappeared without a trace.
SERIOUS SIGNS OR IRREGULARITY AT VDSM
vdsm has far reaching , intrusive, special powers to execute its tasks.
The National Security Service of St Maarten VDSM, established during the formation of Country St Maarten with far reaching, intrusive powers, has has to endure an investigation that has revealed serious signs of irregularities that possible could range from abuse of power to compromising or leaking of information that could affect national security. Though exactly why the investigation was started and what it revealed was not disclosed by Prime Minister Sarah Wescot WIlliams, the twenty page ordinance that regulates the VDSM and outlines its tasks leaves lots of room for speculation about what exactly these irregularitites at the young agency could entail, especially considering that almost all actions executed by the VDSM require prior permission from the Prime Minister. The main tasks of the VDSM are to investigate persons or groups who pose a threat to the legitimacy of democracy on the island and the integrity of government, to provide security screenings in relation to positions of confidentiality, and to give advice to the vital sectors, in relation to national security.
VDSM has a range of “special powers t can use in the execution of its taskes, these include, but are not limited to observing individuals or businesses an in the process capturing data by recording means, or otherwise tracking individuals or businesses using tracking devices and surveillance eqpuipment, entering and seraching enclosed spaces, recording and intercepting communications, telecommunications or automated data, opening letters and oter consignments, and intruding computerised files. The VDSM has undisclosed amount of funds at tits disposal to execute these powers These special powers are applied only with the PRime Minister’s approval based on a written proposal by the VDSM head. Written permission from the PM must be otained for each case. This permission shall, infofar as theordinance provides, be granted for up to three months and may be renewed by request of the head of VDSM. It is clearly specified that the processing of data takes place only for a particular purpose and only to the extent necessary for the proper implememntation of the ordinance. VDSM does not collect data related to a person’s religion or belief, race health or sexual lifestyle, unless this relates to other collected data.
VDSM is also charged with the screening of persons for confidential positions. If a person has applied for a job considered a position of confidentiality “vertrowuwensfunctie” or if someone presently holsds a postion that requires a so called declaratiton of no objection “verlaring van geen Bezwaar” (VGB, he or she will have to undergo a security screeing. POstions of confidentiality are postions in the private or public sector that are deemed vulnearble and require a security screening by the VDSM to ensure that individuals placed in these roles do not pose a threat to national security. These may include, for example, functions in which access is given to or needed in relation to confidential information, or the individual needs access to the secure area of an airport or seaport.
